The Jukebox at The Diner: "Back To School" Leonard, Part 6
Sunday was a blast.
One of the things I was worried about after I finished Volume Three was whether or not the story would be done with me. It turns out it isn’t. The creative flow that’s been the driving force behind The Jukebox at The Diner is still with me as I turn the first draft of The Halloween Special into script form. It makes me so happy that my enthusiasm for almost a whole year now (20 days and counting until the first anniversary of The Jukebox at The Diner, well, it’s more like a birthday, isn’t it….) has stayed with me. It was evident in the screenwriting group, as I could offer a little “color commentary” to a scene of another member’s script, which I’ve been a little quiet about because it’s thematically a professional wrestling story and right up my alley. Which reminds me, did I ever tell you about the promo I wrote for an East Coast indie wrestler, Amy Shadows? It all culminated with her graduation match at Jimmy Valiant’s wrestling camp, where I managed to book her against Mickey fucking Knuckles. (I asked Mickey to work her stiff).
That script was the key I needed to see how a script should look and feel to the eyes. While Draft #2 of The Jukebox at The Diner Halloween Special needs work for primetime readiness, it’s finally starting to “look” like a script. Here it is, enjoy.
